Seekonk High School Recognizes Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The valedictorian for the graduating class is Thomas Wang, and the salutatorian is Lucy Lewis.
“We want to identify equally Thomas and Lucy for their dedication and many achievements both of those in the classroom and outside of for the duration of their time in the Seekonk General public Educational facilities,” Principal Whalen said. “Both have attained a good deal up to this place and we are self-assured they will proceed to depict Seekonk well during the next phases of their lives.”
Thomas Wang
Wang has been with the Seekonk Public School for all 12 many years. He participated in varsity soccer and outside keep track of and area at SHS, was captain of the math league, served as Vice President of Model UN and was captain of the science bowl.
Outdoors of university he used lots of several hours volunteering at the Seekonk Community Library all through the summertime months.
He is the receiver of the John Philip Sousa Band Award and was named a Countrywide Advantage Scholarship finalist.
Wang will research Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Brown University in the tumble.

Lucy Lewis
Lewis has been a member of the Seekonk Community Educational institutions since sixth quality, when she started out at Hurley Center University. Throughout her time in Seekonk, she has been concerned in many clubs and corporations, which includes: Vital Club Course Director and HMS Tutoring advisor, PaperCuts (SHS Literary Journal) Main Editor, SHS Government Board scholar advisor, 2021 Women of Science workforce member, Very first Responders Club member, Science Club member, Countrywide Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Culture, Spanish Club and Gay-Straight Alliance Club.
She has also engaged in quite a few several hours of local community services by means of Seekonk Superior Model UN and the National Honor Culture, surpassing graduation volunteer hour needs.
Lewis is the recipient of the South Coast Instructional Collaborative Francis W. Gallishaw Memorial Scholarship, Brown Reserve Award, Saint Michael’s School E book Award for Educational Achievement and Social Conscience, Certificate of Academic Excellence, Certificate of Recognition for completing 100 several hours of community services, 2021 Exemplary Social Experiments Award, and President’s Education Awards System for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
She will show up at Endicott Faculty in the tumble with options to enroll in the Biology and Biotechnology with Pre-Health-related Occupation application.
“I would like to thank my mom and dad Kristine Lewis-Hicks and Robert Hicks for supporting me and my education and learning,” Lewis mentioned. “Along with my Aunt (Tia) Kelly and my Aunt Lori, who have often been there for me. Thank you all for pushing me and currently being job types for my daily life.”
Wang and Lewis will be acknowledged for remaining named valedictorian and salutatorian all through the Seekonk Large Faculty graduation ceremony to be held this Friday, June 3.
“We congratulate each Thomas and Lucy for all they have reached,” Superintendent Drolet mentioned. “Both have been shining illustrations of what it usually means to be a university student here in Seekonk, like striving for educational accomplishment, contributing to a lot of golf equipment and pursuits, and heading outside of their college to grow to be optimistic members of the better Seekonk neighborhood.
